My husband and I have been talking a lot about our future. It seems that God has not put children in our immediate future and maybe there is a reason for that. Some of you may not know this, but both of us are artistic souls. I was a voice performance major in college and my life's dream was to become an actor. My husband is the lead singer in a band, and really just wants to make a living creating music. Unfortunately, bills, life, and reality have prevented us from even really trying to achieve our dreams.
It has really hit us hard that we haven't been able to pursue our dreams. We are now at a point in our lives where we only have 2 choices, put some plans on hold and go full throttle to try and see how far we can take our dreams, or decide we are too old and give them up and find new dreams.
We've decided to take the first choice. I've come to terms with not having children in the immediate future, and I want to set a good example for children that I may have in the years to come. This means, trying to honestly pursue your dreams.
This weekend my husband and I have decided to do whatever it takes this year to prepare for bigger things. We are both picking up extra jobs to pay off debts and save money. By June of 2011 we are hoping to move to an area of the country that will allow us to pursue these dreams. We will need to downsize our lifestyle and sacrifice, but we don't want to look back on our lives and wonder "what if?".
This is a very scary and exciting decision for both of us. We are expecting some friends and family to think we are crazy, but if you aren't a little crazy, you will never achieve your dreams.
